Yours of the 10th inst. came to hand this morning. this is the first I have heard about your order for cloths, you have never written one word about cloths in any way or shape whatever ^ or if you have I never got the letter and some six weeks ago I was in at J. Earls and seeing some nice clothing was tempted to order some for you, but on the whole concluded to wait until I should hear from you. Well it is now late and if I should wait to hear from you again you may suffer from the cold, so I have been to Mr Earls this morning and selected a business suit and an over coat, good and warm, the business suit is to be made from one [?] of cloth a mixed english, prime quality, vest pants and coat all alike. It is the Style [?] worn here, and looks first rate, now if you want anything else you can order it, but me thought a business suit could not come amiss and an over coat I am sure you will want, and I have ordered one suitable for your business and climate. they are to be sent this week Thursday

Frank Kittredge is dead she died yesterday the 15th at about 6 oclock in the morning. Shee was most happy in her death much preferring it to life, her mother has been with her constantly for a long time and has been over her almost day and night.
I fear my letters do not all reach you or else you do not acknoledge them, for I write very often. I wrote all about Marcy going to be our Rep, and then that he was [?], and for which information you dint say a word, and then the prospect of him being sent to Congress, well I guess when we send him you will say something.
did the Express charge you anything on the grapes?
did Johnson get into any trouble with the Shattuck girl?
[Sal?] Higgins leaves this week for Chicago where he will spend the winter together with his family. [Ko?] Johnson is on here and I should not be surprised if he were to go into the shoe business again here, he was in the store last Sat. and talked with us nearly an hour

I accepted an invitation to dine with him some day this week at his house in Bradford There is no particular change in hides since I wrote you last, only the demand is very lmited, the English English news looks better than was expected, if they have ___ over order for hides it will help our market, that is it will help keep the price where it now is, but the probablility is the price will be low this winter, I should not think you ought to have over 3 cts for green _____ our __ are worth 5 cts.
