TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FT. WORTH.

GENTLEMEN:-

Lone Star Camp No. 2, Woodmen of the World, with headquarters in the city of Ft. Worth, Texas, are desirous of holding a Charity Carnival in the city of Ft. Worth, beginnig Monday April 25th. 1904, and extending through saturday April 30th. 1904, and desire and pray the council to grant them the free use of the streets of the city of Ft. Worth, for the purpose of giving parades and for the purpose of using them in such ways as they may desire, which are ordinarily made use of to make such a carnival a success. All booths and exhibit stands will be erected on Houston st. from tenth to twelfth, streets and on 11th. street from Main to Throckmorton, on such vacant lots as lie on these streets.

Said Camp also desires and prays the council to grant them the privilege of erecting stands for the purpose of selling popcorn, candy and such other articles as they may see proper, and the exclusive right to sale of confetti, and for permission to close 11th. street from Houston to Throckmorthon. They also desire and pray the council to grant them the right and privilege to issue permits for the selling of such articles as those above mentioned and the right of charging parties for said permits, the money derived from said charges to be used in defraying the expenses of said carnival.

We would also ask the use of the city water, the said Lone Star Camp No. 2 making all necessary connections, under your supervision.

It is usual and customary where carnivals of the kind above mentioned are given, for cities to grant such privileges as those herein desired.

They are desire the right and privilege of signing all contracts to and with managers of such attractions as may be given during said carnival, in order that they may keep out all immoral shows that any parties may desre to give.

The said Camp further desires and prays the Council to grant and give them any and all such privileges as they may see proper to grant in order that they may make siad carnival a success, not only for the benefit of the Woodmen of the World, but also in giving the people of Ft. Worth one week of first class entertainment.
