The Dartmouth Cemetery ASsociation will hold its annual meeting on Monday the 9th day of April next at 2 P.M. in the Vestry

1. To choose a Moderator

2. To elect officers for the next year.

3. To transact any other business lawfully coming before the ASsociation.

Annual Meeting

In accordance with lawful public notice the Dartmouth Cemetery ASsociation held its annual meeting April 9th 1866. at 2P.M. in the Vestry.

Prof. S. G. Brown was appointed Moderator. The following persons were duly elected officers of the ASsociation for the ensuing year.

Proposed negotiations with Prof. H. Fairbanks & Prof O. P. Hubbard in regard to the sale of a small section from the Northern end of the Cemetery grounds were referred to the Directors with full power to act for the ASsociation.

The ASseSsment of Taxes & adjustment of other financial matters were also referred to the Directors.

Voted to deliver the deed of one third of an acre of the Cemetery land to Prof. Fairbanks receive the payment of $200 from him and pay the debts of the Association so far as that sum will meet the demands of creditors.

Copy of Deed from the Dartmouth Cemetery Association to Henry Fairbanks.

Know all men by these presents that We, the Dartmouth Cemetery Association existing in Hanover, County of Grafton and State of New Hampshire for and in consideration of two hundred dollars to us in hand before the delivery hereof, well and truly paid by Henry Fairbanks of said Hanover, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant give bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and confirm to the said. Henry Fairbanks his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in said Hanover and bounded as follows, beginning on the line of Prof. Hubbard's land, where said line intersects with the southern boundary of the college lane, thence running South 11 1/2° west 3 rods and 3 links, thence North 81 3/4° W. on the Cemetery land 16 rods and 22 links to a stone post at a point where the Northern boundary of the line of the Cemetery lot intersects the Southern line of Prof. Fairbank's land, thence North 72 1/2° East, 13 rods and 2 1/2 links, to a stone post thence S. 55 3/4° East 5 rods and 21 links to the first mentioned bound containing about one third of an acre,

more or less, it being understood and agreed by the contracting parties, that as a part of the consideration for the land in addition to the $200 mentioned above, that the said Fairbanks shall build and maintain a good and sufficient fence on the whole line between his land and the Cemetery; and, that in case he should sell or alienate the land purchased of this association, it shall be sold with the perpetual obligation of the purchaser to repair and sustain said fence; further, it is agreed as part of the consideration that said Fairbanks shall allow a right of way over his land and through his private road for all the purposes for which the Association may wish to use it.

The above is a true copy of the terms and condition of sale. The deed was executed by the President and Secretary of the Association and recorded in the Grafton County Records April 17, 1867, Lib 290; Folio 321

RECTO: 1864.

April 29th Friday. 7 P.M.- At a meeting of the Directors of the Dartmouth Cemetery Association there were present Mssrs. Brown, Luds, Tenny, Blaisdell, Cobb, Crosby & Aiken. It was voted that Major Tenny be a Committee to examine the conditions of the Cemetery fence, & report the repairs needed, with estimates of the expense of different kinds of fencing - with authority to engage (if expendient) a sufficient number of stone posts. Voted that Profr. Brown & Dr. Crosby be a Committee to examine & report upon the state & [events] of the Cemetery with respect to internal improvements & ornamentation. Voted that Mr. Cobb & Prof. Aiken be a Committee to consider & report upon the proposition of Prof. Fairbanks to purchase a few rods of land near the N.W. corner of the Cemetery. Voted that Mr. Blaisdell be a Committee to see Prof. Hubbard with reference to his drain now opening near the East line of the Cemetery & rendering a portion of the ground useless & offensive.

Voted that this meeting stand adjourned to Wednesday evening next at 7 o'clock.

May 4th. The directors met according to adjournment. Present Mssrs. Brown, Luds, Tenney, Blaisdell, Cobb & Aikin.

A report was made by Maj. Tenney in regard to the Cemetery fence, which was accepted. Later, the whole subject of rebuilding fence, negotiating with neighboring proprietors &c. was referred to Major Tenney & Mr. Cobb, with instructions to proceed according to their direction.

A report was made by Prof Brown in respect to internal improvements. The report was accepted, & later, the same committee were instructed to proceed according to the plan now submitted, expanding the present season such [same] as they judged within the present means of the Assoca.—

A report was made by Mr. Cobb in regard to Profr. Fairbank's proposition. The subject was recommitted.

RECTO

A partial report was made by Mr. Blaisdell on the subject committed to him. The subject was recommitted to him.

Mr. Cobb & Mr. Luds were appointed a Committee to attend to repairs needed on the hearse.

A finance Committee was appointed, consisting of Mssrs. Aiken, Dewey, & Blaisdell. An [[appointment]] of $1. Mr Chase was voted for the present year, with intruction to the [[free]] & ever to collect also the uncollected [[appointments]] for 1861 & 1863.

The subject of lots for public use are, after decision commiteed to the President for each action as might be required.

It was voted that a Committee be appointed to attent to the defining, restoring & maintaining ofthe boundary lines of lots in the Cemetery. The [Rest. JM & Leaer] were appointed, with power to fill vacancies.

The Directors the adjourned to meet three weeks from last Tuesday evening (May 24th) Chs. A. Aiken Secy.
