Monday May 2, 1921
A cloudy cool day. Ben sawed wood at Marvins. Jim worked on his tobacco ground. Josie wet a lot of gingham this morning and ironed it this evening. I went to Mags this evening. Mr Padget even taken me and gave me a ride. I was glad of it. Found all well at Mags. I come by Renan. Hubbard was plowing. Kate Hubbard was freezing cream. I then come by Reynols's. There was no one at home but Julia and children the rest of them was gone to Danville. Kate Harvey went with them. I come by Mr Farthings. Mrs Farthing has nice little girl a week olde. Her name is Elsie May. They had a lot of company. I then come by Marvins and then home. Josie had supper a bout ready.
Sunday May 15, 1921
A cloudy day and some rain. Ben & family went to Jim Powers. Mrs Car went with them. I staid here and looked after the things here.
Marvin & Reese met Jim at Gretna. He got home by night. I met Lee this evening. He was lookin well. Mollie & Clifton and Jane Reynols & the boy come and staid a while. I was glad to see them. I wish Clifton well in his new home.
I miss seeing Carrie today. She went to see Kate Harvey this evening.
Tuesday May 17, 1921
A good day. Ben & Jim fixed tobacco land this morning and planted tobacco this evening. Henry and Edna dropped plants.
Josie and I washed this morning. We had a big washing.
Denia Blair come to see us this evening. I was very glad that she come.
Mollie invited me to spend the day with her. I could not go as we had commenced to wash.
Heard that Fanny Emerson is married to Dews Leneir. I wish the childe well.

Thursday May 26, 1921
Cloudy most of the day. Rain this evening. The boys worked on their tobacco most of the day. Ben went to the island for a washing machine.
Mollie Reynols and Julia Fergerson & little daughter come and spent the day. We were glad to have them. Floid come after them this evening.
Today is William Brumfield birth day. I would be glad to see him.
Dr Owen invited me to go fishing. I would of liked to go but it rained so that we could not fish. Hope he will ask me to go a gain.
Wednesday June 1, 1921
A good day. The boys worked in their tobacco all day. Josie sewed some this morning. This evening she starched the clothes and ironed most of them.
I went with Carrie and the children to White Falls. They carried corn. The miller could not grind it but swaped meal for the corn. We fished some. Caught some fish. Stopped at Mount Airy and at Renan. Johnson & Mollie went to Chatham. They carried Mildred Fergerson with them.
