January 20

1964. Mon. Heavy mail. Told Miss W. I retiring. Mild & wet. Dinner at Fal.

1965. Wed. To Bank of Montreal, took sweaters to Unitarians, to Bank of N.S. Typed Mrs. S mss.

1966. Thu. Worked on Mrs. Hoodless. Dountoun to get wool etc. Mild. Still reading "Laurier".

1967. Fri. Relig. Educ. meeting - long hard day. To dinner at Dowsett's with Beulah & her brother. very nice. tired.

1968. Sat. Mild but walking very bad. Hugh called up. Made cotton dress & began reading Macdonald mss for Macm. heard Aida.

January 21

1964. Tues. Smith College Com. met. Told Miss J & Margaret. Had dinner alone on St. Clair Ave.

1965. Thu. Archives all morning. Went through all Mrs. S. sketches & paintings. Snowing.

1966. Fri. Mild & sunny, lovely day. To Loblaws for the walk. To Waterloo at 5:55 - very crowded train. Anne met me.

1967. Sat. to get stamps & to library. Knitted white cap for Anne. Heard "Lohengrin" on radio. Mild. Hugh called up.

1968. Sun. To church - Dr. McClure. Lorraine & Hugh, Paul & Jennifer came for dinner. Chicken sent in. Very good time. Jennifer walked & walked.

January 22

1964. Wed. Prin. Harris here to talk about bldg changes. To tea at 146 with Miss McG.

1965. Fri. Checked bags. To lunch with Alex Brady at Windsor Arms. Then to Waterloo. All met me. Cold.

1966. Sat. Anne & boys & I with Rosie & Leslie to Kitchener market to get cheese. Knitted & mended, fed & played with Mary.

1967. Sun. to church. mild. Heard "Norma" on radio & part of "Siegfried". Peaceful day. Reading Betjeman.

1968. Mon. baked mince pie & made salad. Donald came for lunch. We to Hugh's & I made curry. In new house - spacious & lovely.

January 23

1964. Thu. Lunch with Miss Grant. Tea with U.A.W.C. & saw many people. Heard Hugh on fm panel discussion. Bissell told [me Innis Coll?]

1965. Sat. Heavy snow. I looked after Bay in bed with cold. They played badminton. Played Alex & talked.

1966. Sun. Very heavy snow all day. 14 or 15 in. Hugh et all couldn't come. Went for walk in snow. Played with Mary & fed her.

1967. Mon. had my hair done. To club to last meeting & dinner of "Clear Spirit" Com. very good.

1968. Tues. Donald left for Geneseo. Cold & windy. Vacuumed. To bank & library.

January 24

1964. Fri. Mr. Hickey here to go over plans for Union. To lunch at Heliconian Club. Had my hair done.

1965. Sun. Anne's gifts. Violent blizzard. Hugh & Lorraine couldn't come. Heavy snow & then sleet. Saw TV on Pierre Berton & "Comfortable Pew".

1966. Mon. Turned collar on Ian's shirt. Anne & I talked & played Beethoven's sonatas on records. Came back at 4. Deep snow & cold.

1967. Tues. Shopped for dress for Anne. Mild. To library. Miss West called up.

1968. Wed. worked on "opening exercises" in O.I.S.E. Very cold. typed & sewed. radio
