[p.6] JANUARY 1 1944 went to vote with Mary & Hugh. Wrote letters. H. took Hugh & Mary to Movie D. out. 1945 Snowing & cold. Children playing in snow. Sylvia Thrupp here for dinner. 1946 Cold. Children skating Darned & wrote letters. Mary out for evening. 1947 went to vote with Hugh & Anne. Very cold. Big dinner. D& Mary out. 1948 very cold. H. & I to vote. Hugh & Anne skating. Mary out in evening.

[p.7] JANUARY 2 19 Girls & I to Communion. Mild. Heard symphony. Jack Benny etc. Reading "Incomplete Angler" Tues 19 To dentist, then downtou to get Hugh new longs. Mary off to Sutton for a week. very cold & deep snow. 19 Anne & Hugh skating go to bank & store. Mary went back to residence. cold. 19 As hair cut. Cleaned & baked for Mary's party. 3 tables of bridge & dancing 19 Breakfast in bed, feeling better but weak. Worked on Y.W. Hist. Hugh & A. skating. Mary out.

[p.8] JANUARY 3 Mon. 19 H. went to Kingston. D., H. & A. to school. Naomi here for lunch. went to library. Wed. 19 To lunch with Rosemary Clark at Arcadian Court. Typed & sewed. D, H. & A. back to school. The Children back to school. House very quiet. To library & store. Mended & cleaned. Fri 19 Shopped & had my hair done. Hugh, A, H & S to see Danny Kaye in "kid from Brooklyn." Sat. 19 Feeling better. M. out. Hugh at movie. H. & I to library for A. & to Weis's for evening. very good time.

[p.9] JANUARY 4 19 Mary & I downtown to lunch & shopping. Taught Anne to sew on machine. Reading "Peter Abelow? 19 To Loblaws. Typed hard Doris Taylor here for tea. very cold. H. to Montreal. 19 Mary called up. To see gladys Cochrane & to Taylors. Mild. D. at music. Sat. 19 Baked & cleaned. Tea for G. Ferguson - Creightons, Coats Pratts. H. & I to dinner with George at Royal York. 19 Don & Phil Creighton for tea. Cynthia sick. Heard Benny & Allen. Cold.

A. got cook's badge Sat 19 baked cookies etc. Hugh clewaned back yard & washed dishes. Reading " Cass Timberlane." Sun 19 washed. To Univ library. Anne at guides. Mary at Kappas.
