Dear Son I have enclosed Mr Robt Jenkins's letter wherein he has a claim upon me for £15.16.0 stg I will thank to call and pay him out of the enclosed £16 stg taking his receipt in full of all demands - except a balance due to him some time ago upon Mr. Wm Wilson's accnts which amount I wish you to ask him to be goodenough to furnish me with the first Opportunity - will you be so kind as to Obtain the same and let me have it by the return of Mr Bateman with the receipt of the above £15.16.0 your Dear Mother is getting better through mercy - the remainder of us are all well and join in love to you and kindest remembrance to Mr & Mrs Birnie - yours truly R.
