65 Cloudy & Clearing May, Friday 6th. 1887.

Threatened thunder gust lasta night but did not amount to anything. I drove in E Gilpin's buggy down to Mitchell's Willie going with me. Paid Isiah Coar my toll bill to date ($2.15) W & I washed & fixed up "Gilpin's" buggy. Luther Muncaster left his bicycle here & came in during the thunder gust after school W went to Ashton afternoon & rode "Fritz" to his "Lodge" After supper. (at Olney" Edwd & I walked up to the mill after tea.

66 Cloudy. S.E. May, Saturday 7th. 1887.

There was a succession of thunder gusts & heavy dashes of rain from midnight until this morning and again afternoon today. Charlotte Rounds was here & I incised a "felon" on the index finger of her left hand.

67 Cloudy & Rain. S.E. May, Sunday 8th 1887.

We were awaken this morning by thunder and it continued at intervals all day, there was heavy rain during last night, & several heavy showers today.

66 Rain. S.E. May, Monday 9th 1887.

Dull & raining. Afternoon I was called over to R Roland Moores tennant house to attend Branson Cook's wife in confinement twins boy & girl, it rained very hard as I came home. Fanny & Alcie Peirce called, Ernest & Minnie came & took tea. Charley came home to dinner.

68. Cloudy. Variable May, Tuesday 10th. 1887.

I drove ot Dan Budd's & prescribed for his son George & called to see & prescribe for "Nelly" at Ashton. Charley going with me. Still cloudy & threatning rain. the roads are muddy & deep off the turnpike Cleared off after sundown Dora & Willie walked down to see Nelly after supper.

66o Clear. N.W. May, Wednesday 11th 1887.

I drove over to Danl: Budd's & prescribed again for his son George. Afternoon Emma Roddy was here and had a tooth extracted. Charley & Willie cleaned out the wood house and piled the wood into it. I walked down to Sherwood School house to see a game of base ball, taking E with me

68 Clear N.W. May Thursday 12th 1887.

Beautiful morning. C & W hauled saw dust for the ice house & stables. I drove to Dan Budd's & called at Nelly's, C going with me. After supper Dora, Charley & Willie walked over to Jno Bentley's & spent the evening, taking the musical instruments with them. Phil Robinson fell from an "Acting pole" in the meeting house sheds, & hurt himself somewhat his mother was alarmed & got me to go over to see him, but I found they were "more frightened than hurt."

67 Clear N.E. May, Friday 13th 1887.

Chas F. Brooke called before I was up. After breakfast I drove over to Dan Budds taking Phil & Frank Robison with me. Wm Leizear (son of Cornelius) came for advice & med: for his mother. Charley & I used the large mower in the yard for the first time. After supper Willie went with Ed Gilpin over to Scott's. I wrote to F Tyson & mailed the letter.

66 Clear Haizy S.E MAY, SATURDAY 14th 1887.

I drove down to Albin Mitchells, taking Edwd & Phil Robison with me. called at Hetty Stabler's to see about seed potatoes. Afternoon Charley & Willie went to a "baseball" match at Brookeville. Nelly came & took tea with us & took little "Bessie" home with her. I taking them down in the carriage. C & W went over to Scott's after supper to see Walter who is at home on a visit. We were all sorry to part with dear little Bessie and shall miss her very much. I am afraid she is going away from home poor little thing.

65 Clear N.W. MAY, SUNDAY 15th 1887.

Still another lovely day. I drove to Dan Bank's to see Matilda about her boys wages she was not at home. Bro R called on way to meeting. Afternoon Charley took his mother & sister & Edwd. over to Jim Jackson's taking the carriage & both horses. J Wesley Johnson here to consult me. also Elijah Leizear for himself & wife. Willie rode away on the bicycle & home to supper. Charley & the rest of them came home after tea.
