30o Snow Storm N. E MARCH, THURSDAY 31st. 1887.

Regular Midwinter snowstorm commencing Before sunrise & continuing all day more or less & at sunset the snow is about 6 inches deep. Afternoon I drove to Hettie Stablers in the carriage (Charley with me) she having sent for me by Louisa Gilpin. Rachael Powell was here for advice & med: for herself. This certainly is unusual weather for the time of year & the "Ground Hog" has lost his reputation as a weather prophet forever. I am feeling low spirited and blue in consequence of the unusally long hard winter. The sleighs are "Jingling" past this evening going to an Entertainment at the Lyceum " to aid the " library building" fund. I fear it will be a slim gathering. as it is not fit weather for any one to be out who has any place to stay in.
