41 Clear _ S E APRIL, MONDAY 4.th 1887.

Richard Lea called early in the morning ( at breakfast time) to consult me about a sick colt of his pet mare Willie & I tinkered at fixing a broken bow of the buggy top. Lizzie Scott sent over a note for Dora asking that W should go for Ella & bring her home from school: which cant be done as he has no horse. Lavinia Hood was here for advice & medicine. Charley & Dora came home at 5-15 p.m. After supper I went over to the annual meeting of the Lyceum

42 Cloudy NW APRIL, TUESDAY 5th 1887 .

Edwd coughed so much through last night that I did not sleep at all. This morning I drove to Bank's & Jno Ed. Hill's Charley with me. Hill's little boy died thismorning. I slept nearly all the afternoon. Wind blew raw & cold all day. from N.W.

26 o Clear_ N.W. APRIL, WEDNESDAY 6th. 1887.

Arch Bishop's wife was here for advice & Med: quite early Bank's son "Ellie" came to report his bro's condition & get more medicine. Laura Hill & Annie were also here for advice & med: for the former Charley & Willie drove over to Stephen Holland's place to see Robt Marfield or Detter. Afternoon they cleaned up the garden & hauled out manure. I drove up to Sandy Spring taking Edwd: for a little ride. I mended & glued my old violin. Albert Chaudlee & wife called at the gate.

Cloudy EAPRIL, THURSDAY 7 th. 1887.

Willie drove " Kit " to the buggy to Elton to bring Nelly from there. Afternoon Charley & I walked up to the mill to a public sale Henderson selling off his farming utensils Charley acting as " clerk" & P.T. Stabler as Auctioneer. I bought a garden hoe Willie Returned with Nelly about supper time. I bought some fresh fish. Had some music in the evening. W rode "Fritz" to F. Snowdens after dark for some butter but got none.

47o Clean_ Haizy S.W. APRIL, SUNDAY 10. 1887.

Beautiful spring Morning F Tyson walked up to "Marden" to call after breakfast. Bro R called on way home from meeting, Bank's boy "Ellie" called. Jno Mitchell here for advice & Med: for his father ("Albice" ). After meeting time Charley & F. Tyson drove over to Jno. M Smiths' to dinner intending to make some calls this afternoon.

50. Clear & Hazy. S.W. APRIL, MONDAY 11th. 1887.

Charley drove F Tyson to Laurel after early breakfast. Jno Mitchell was here for me to go to see his father. Sarah Awkard here for advice & medicine. Charley returned about noon & after dinner I drove down to Alvin Mitchell's & prescribed for him. Willie going with me. Phillis Jackson's daughter Emma was here for advice & medicine

51 Clear W April, Tuesday 12th. 1887.

Charley drove to Rockville & from there in car's to Washington to see F. Moore on buisiness. he returned just at dusk in the evening. I walked up to the mill in the afternoon they had been running the new machinery a little on trial

46° Cloudy .E. April, Wednesday 13th. 1887.

Willie took Fritz and the spring wagon to gather up some furniture etc for Nelly from "Eldon" "Homewood" "Riverside" &c Miss Alice & Beatrix Tyson called for advice & medicine for the former & to pay their bill to the first of June: last. I walked up to see the mill running all of the new machinery for the first time. Dora & Nelly walked down to Ashton. Afternoon I drove to Ashton for garden seeds &c Willie went down to varnish some things for Nelly. he going on the "bicycle". After supper Charley Willie & myself walked down to Ashton.

50o Clear S E APRIL, THURSDAY 14th. 1887.

Charley & Willie cleaned off the garden & burned the "trash" Spread manure & C plowed it & also plowed more than half of the part next door that we are to use. Using both of the horses to plow. After supper. Willie went down "Frog Pond with some young ladies & Ed. Gilpin in E. Gilpins wagon & driving Miss Mary Gilpins "Frank" & E's black mare. I have not been at all well to day feeling "Rheumatic" & dyspeptic

51 Cloudy S.W. APRIL, FRIDAY 15th. 1887.

I was taken quite ill with an attack of bilious vomiting last night about midnight: and suffered greatly until day light & was so extremely weak & sore my old trouble of peritinitus threatening me again I remained in bed all day. Charley finished plowing the lot next door After supper Willie drove the "Kit" mare to the buggy to Olney taking Marianna Stabler to a Good Tempelar meeting. He got home just in time to escape a thunder storm.
