In 1791 Isaac Collins in N.J. who had in 1788 published a New Testament, brought out an ed. of the Bible noted for its scrupulous printing accuracy. Only 1 broken letters + one wrong punctuation mark crept in; his careful reading of the proofs 11 tiems paid off. - On Sept. 12, 1792, 2 years after Trenton became the state capital, the New-Jersey State Gazette was launched by Mathias Day in silent parnership with George F. Hopkins.

HEHL 33071 Nehemiah - begins on p. 389 (3A4) - ends on p. 402 (3C2) the No. 7 appears on A1 B1 C1 - H1 then No. 9 on 2I1 - on the last leaf - a list of suscribers names who have patronized the publishing of this Bible.

[17-960]: Text O.T. (parts + marginalia in Ro. and It.) [963-1199]: Text N.T. (marginals in Ro, It, and Gr). - This folio Bible is one of the most impressive + beautiful ed. of the Plantin press. Already in 1580 Plantin started working on this Bible. The number of COpies printed is not known. - In his struggle against rising Protestantism Charles V prohibited in his domains all suspect Bibles (in Latin, French + dutch) adn asked the Theological Faculty of the Louvain Univ. to prepare duly authorized + orthodox ed. in these languages. The Latin Bible appeared first (1547) at Louvain by B. Gravius in folio. Beginning with his first Bible ed. in 1559, Plantin followed this Louvain version. Revised in 1574, all Plantin's subsequent Latin Bibles are based on this edition.
