[End nserted] (P8) Large text type. In latter part of Horace are added 2 forms of separate Q [with] short dropped tail & an M [with] inclined shanks.

110R ([with] new Q & M) remainder. 82R (P4) comm. types. Single Qu steeply looped 82 Gk - lower case only Capital spaces [with] guide letters. EPSITOLARUM CLXI x LIBER PRIMUS B. Stagninus- earliest book, March 1483. the continued to work as a printer, though irregularly unil the end of the century. Died 1537.

Pt. I. a 10 b-o8 p6. 120 leaves the 1st + last blank Pt. II. 232 leaves, the 1st blank. Pt. I, 6a: 48 lines + headline (number of book) 203 (219) x 122 mm Types: 150 G (P2) heading type of a class common in Venice. In use 1477-81. 84 G text (P3) Medium text type. Wide ornate capitals, mostly double backed. I, L scrolled to left, tail of h level with line, med - double slanting hyphen. In use 1480, 81. Roman majuscules as numerals in headlines. Capital spaces with guide letters at beginnings of books.

The output of this printer (at 1st collaborating with Theodorus de Reynaburch) remains regular form 14 June 1477, his 1st definite date, to the autumn of 1483. There is then a break until 1486 - last books 1495-96.

Liber II which begins on 05 + ends on p5 at the end of Part 1 on p. 5 - Josephus antigate approbas iudaici populi duos libros scripsit co tra Appione alexandrinu gramaticu: 7 tanta seculariu pfert testimonia: ut mibi mircculu subeat quo vir hebre3 ab infantia sacris litteris eudit3 cuncta greco4 biblio theca euoluerit. followed by colophon.

After completing at Parma a Plutarch on 23 Sept. 1472 + presumably putting in hand the Petrarch dated from the same city on 6 March 1473, Portilla started work at Bolognia in time to finish a Tartagnus on 21 Dec. 1472 on 12 Jan. 1473. He was also mainly concerned in the production of the Repertorium utriusque juris of P. ed Monte dated 8 Nov. 1475. His next known work was signed
