Titled in Latin (italic) + German (gothic); unsigned, but after drawings by N. Asamin, G.D. Ehret (1708 - 1770) + others and engraved by Johann E. Ridinger (1698 - (1767), Bartholomew Seuter (1678 - 1754) and J.J. Hard (1704 - 1767)

George N. Dieterichs (1681 - 1737) 0 1st 95 plates Ludwig M. Dieterichs (1716 - 1769) wrote the descriptions Ambrosious K. Bider(?) (1693 - 1747) of the plates Text in 2 col. [with] dictionary - abbreviation headlines.

-- Whereas the 1st vol. of Phytanthoza Iconographia has a text of 208 pages + 275 plates, the present vol. contains just 52 pages of text + 175 plates -- plate 112 Ananas -Pineapple (comosus) 117 Anchusa [= Onosma echioides] 124 Anemone [coronaria] (3) -- Ehret spent 1 1/2 yrs c the rich Regensburg apothecary J.W. Weinmann drawing plants for Weinmann's vast P. Iconographia. -- Weinmann's P. Iconographia published in 1736 in both Amsterdam + Ratisbon - illustrates many kinds of fruit as well as vegetables + flowers. -- mezzo tint process was invented by Ludwig von Siegen about 1640.
