Dear Sir;

Yours received in regard to lot 193. We do not do anything in the way of lettering; think it should be done before cleaning the stones, therefore will defer the cleaning, until informed by you that the other work is finished

Yours Resp'y.

R.E. Demmon, Esq.,

Boston.

Dear Sir: -

Your favor of June 9th. is received. If you wish to retain the myrtle, I see no other way than to replant it, At best it is most uncertain, and on your lot the two trees add to the difficulty It appears from the books to be four years since you paid for any repairs. The experience here is that it is a continued source of expense, and that even with considerable care the results are often unsatisfactory, so that I never advise planting myrtle, although when it is ordered, it is cared for as well as possible.

The myrtle to which I suppose you refer as being in good order, on the lots opposite to yours, is under perpetual care, and has had considerable extra expenditure to bring it into the condition it is in.

Respectfully yours,

Sup't.

Miss. Ellie Needham,

#47 Garden St., Cambridge, Mass.

Dear Madam: -

I find the fence on your lot is very rusty and broken so that the expense would be large to put it in fair condition, besides the lot will look very much better without the fence.

It is proposed to improve and repair the lots adjoining and it is desirable to have the whole piece sightly. To this [end?] the Corporation will do the work at such a price as will make it an object for you to have it done in connection with the other work.

If the fence and all but your corner posts which mark the boundaries are removed, these posts recut, the number of the lot cut, the lot lowered somewhat on the rear to avoid having the [bad?] bank there, the whole lot regraded, enriched and sown with grass seed and all the marble cleaned, the expense will be twenty five dollars ($25.00) and all the old material of the fence, but if you desire to accept this estimate an immediate reply will be necessary as it will cost much more if done separately from the other work.

Respectfully yours,

Sup't.

Dear Sir: -

Your note is received. The expense of painting the Em[?] lot with two coats of paint will be twelve dollars ($12.00) or to scrape and paint it with one coat os asphaltum (black) will be nine dollars ($9.00). If the two coats of common paint are to be used please designate the color you desire.

The hinges of the gate are both broken so that it will have to be bored and the granite post tapped for its pivot, the cost of which will be five dollars ($5.00). The fence is coming apart at other places and will require further repairs soon, so that I question very much if it is worth the expense .

The lot would be very much improved by removing the [fence?] which can be done for the old material.

Miss. Caroline H. Patterson,

#30 West 20th St., New York, N.Y.

Dear Madam: -

Your note of June 8th. is received and will have attention.

The two small markers are not the same width and cannot therefore have both front and rear lines coincide. There is however but one eighth of an inch of difference which would hardly be noticed if it were not that one corner of the central monument [?] six inches nearer the line than the other and it is the line [?] larger stone which gives the smaller stones the appearance of being out of position. The expense of resetting the monument [to?] correspond with the line of the lot will be five dollars ($5.00).

Respectfully yours,

Sup't.
