FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 1941 I went to see Sis this afternoon. She worked on a dress for me. Leonah & Mary went to Mr. Martin Hanner's to a quilting this afternoon. Sis had aimed to go with them but wouldn't go after I went over to spend the afternoon with her. She said she could go another time.

SATURDAY, APRIL 19. 1941 Jay, Rex & I went to town this afternoon. I went to see Dr. Finley but he wasn't in his office. Dr. Scott examined my blood pressure and said it has gone down some. I went to Jessie's. Rex came for me about 10 o'clock tonight. We just did get home before a hard rain. Fern came home with Jay & will spend the night.

SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 1941 Fern went home this afternoon. Rex & I went to aunt Jessie's this afternoon. Nancy & her husband & Ala Mae were there but left soon after we go there. Fred & Anna Bella came a little while before we left. Mary gave us some awful good strawberry cream.

MONDAY, APRIL 21. 1941 I washed today took a walk & nap. Rex went to Dock's this afternoon.

TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 1941 I ironed and mended part of the clothes.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23, 1941 I have been disappointed today that I didn't get to start house cleaning my kitchen. It has been raining today & too cold to paint the floor and have the room tore up. I cleaned the cloth closet & have done the general house work. Sis told me Chesley Daves was buried Monday. He dropped dead of heart trouble. We got our new radio batteriers today. I got a card from Aunt Jannie.

THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 1941 Marie came a little while this morning. I cleaned out the grate in the kitchen and have done the general house work.

FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 1941 I made a cake this morning. I worked a little in the yard this afternoon & fixes a pair of Jay's pants. They were too long so I made shorter for him.

SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 1941 Rex went to town after Mother this tmorning and she came home with him and will stay until tomorrow. Dock ate dinner with us. Rex went to town a while tonight Mother & I stayed at home and listened to the radio.

SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 1941 Mother spent the day with us & so did John Whitfield. Res & I took mother home this afternoon. Jessie called about 9 o'clock tonight and said Dad was dead that he died at 2 p.m. this afternoon. Jessie wasn't at home at the time they first called so we were delayed in receiving the message. Rex & I went to town tonight. Lin & Fred Strother went after Dad tonight.
