SATURDAY, MARCH 29, 1941
We went to town today and I went to Jessie's. William Ross, Leonah and Earl came tonight & will spend the night with us.

SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 1941
Leonah, Earl & William Ross went home this morning. I went to Leonah's this afternoon & stayed while Rex, Earl & William Rodgers went to Mrs. Barnett's funeral & burying at the Browders this afternoon.

MONDAY, MARCH 31, 1941
The men have been working at Cousin Will Wilson's today so I have been at home alone except Andrew came a little while. I have been cleaning Jay's room today and painted the floor.

TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 1941
I washed this morning. Mr. Croft called today & told me Dad was in town that he couldn't do very much with him & he wanted Rex & I to come to town. I called Sis and she went after Rex at Cousin Will Wilson's. I went to see Sis this afternoon. Leonah & Nealie were there. Rex went to town after a trial Dad was found to be of unsound mind caused from sickness ans was sent back to The State Hospital at Hopkinsville. Mr. George Buney took him late this afternoon.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2, 1941 I have been at home alone today. The men are at Cousin Will Wilson's. I have ironed, mended some clothes and dressed a chicken. Today is Jay's birthday he is 21 years old.

THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 1941 I have been awful blue today. The men have been gone all day. Working at cousin Will Wilson's. I started to go to Alma's this afternoon but turned back as I heard it thunder and thought it would rain before I could get there. It did rain a little but not as much as thought it would. I got a letter from Mother that I couldn't quite understand. Fern came & spent the night with us.

FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 1941 I have been working in Jay's room today and got it nearly completed. I have been blue again today.

SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 1941 Rex took to me Mother's today and I will stay until tomorrow. I stopped in town a while and got some little things. Moths is awful blue but getting along but getting along well as could be expected. I sure missed Dad.

SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 1941 I spent the day with Mother and Uncle Brock. Alline, Awbrey and children, Dorothy and Jimmy Johnson and little daughter. Mildred, Everette & 3 children came to see Mother in the afternoon, Rex came for me & we came home late this afternoon. John & Alma, John Whitfield, wife and little daughter came a while tonight.

MONDAY, APRIL 7, 1941 I straightened the house & got dinner this morning. I made soap this afternoon & had fairly good luck with it.
