Be it resolved that the Mayor & City Secretary be authorized ^& directed^ to enter into a contract with G J Hawkins to grade & gravel that part of Bryan Avenue lying between Oleander & Morphy Streets & that upon the execution of said contract that said Hawkins proceed with said work which has heretofor been declared necessary by ordinance of the council
