To make Lavender, or Hungary Water [Miss Burnet] To a Quart of Spirits of Wine add One ounce of oil of Rosemary for Hungary, & if for Lavendar Water one Ounce of Oil of Lavendar, & in a day or two after add two [Scruples]of Essence of Ambergrase. Soap for the Hands, Miss Bennet One pound of soft soap, two ounces of [Sherma Cita] & One Ounce of [Camphor], rubed very fine, then boiled all together untill it is quite smooth

Mother sent to Doctor Dobson, for a Violent [Humour?] in the Face October 28 1782 - he advised her to mix a couple of Tea spoonfulls of Brandy to a Table spoonfull of Cream, mixing them well together and applied to the Face, if the [?] become very painfull - & if the humour become so Violent as to Discharge to apply dry Oatmeal & [? ?] Her Swallowing, he order'd, two thirds of Flower of Mustard to one of Oatmeal, with enough Hot Water to mix it into a paste, to be put on Occasionally by way of poultice on the throat, to be kept on, a few hours until it become [?oon?] [uneasy?], then to be work'd off with warm Milk & water, & fine Rag wrapt 3 or 4 times round the throat when the poultice is taken off

Mrs Heathcote's receipt for a Cough that had been tried with great success by MrsWyman the staymaker who gave me the receipt - Best Honey one Ounce Powder'd Senna once ounce Flour of Sulpher six drachmes Candied Ginger half an Ounce Syrrup of Sugar sufficient to make them into an electuary. Take a piece the size of a nutmeg six nights following, then omit it three nights. Take it again for Three, so continue taking three and resting three untill the Cough is gone.

Oil of Rosemary rubbed on any part that has the Cramp, will immediately remove it. Mention'd by Mr George James -

and a Yeast poultice, applied to a [whole?] swelling in the Knee, twice, or three times a day, was said to be a certain cure, by a Gentleman who read philosophical lectures
