A good day. Ben & Edna & Josie and Franklin went with Mrs. Car home at Mr Powers. Henry went with Uncle Marvin to Sunday school at Strait Stone church. He come home and we eat our dinner. Then Henry went to Marvins. Reese & Paul Smith and Henry Brumfield went to Mag Brumfields.
I went to the sweet potatoe patch and dug a basket full of sweet potatoes & washed them this evening. I churned and gathered some snaps & strung them.
I went to Marvins a while this evening. Willie Mayhew was here this morning to look at Bens tobacco.

Wednesday, September 10, 1919
A good day and very warm. Ben & Jack painted the stable & buggy house tops. Jim went to the mill.
Josie got dinner & ironed. I went with Mr Willie Mayhew & wife to Long Island. We all fished some. We did not catch any thing. I am so thankful that they would be troubled with me. I eat dinner with them. The whole trip did not cost me a penny.
Marvin went to Jim Eades and got seed wheat. He brought some for Ben. Marvin went to Long Island and got a bed stead this evening.

Tuesday, October 7, 1919
A beautiful day. Jim & Ben stripped tobacco. Owen loaded some on Mr Mayhews truck to day. They are going to South Boston.
Mollie and Christenia Reynolds come a little while to day. Mrs Owen & Mrs Dews come a few minutes this evening. Mrs Car washed dishes for me today and that was a big help.
I washed the babys flanels this evening.
Jim & Ben went to the barn to nigh to tie tobacco.
I have wrote a letter to Letcher Craddock to night.

Wednesday, October 15, 1919
A good day. Jim & Ben loaded their tobacco on Mr Mayhews truck ready for Danville.
Josie come down to dinner to day.
I went to Marvins a little while this evening. Mr McCray come and was going to stay all night at Marvins.
Dr Owen examined Ben this evening. He is going to take insurance.
We heard to day that John Hutcherson is very sick. We are all sorry to hear it.
I woun a tangled hart to night.

Wednesday, October 29, 1919
A cloudy day. Jim & Ben plowed all day. Owen went to Long Island. Carried his calf.
Bessie Callands (col) come here this morning to work. I hope she may stay and be some help to us.
I washed a little this evening.
I went to Johnson Reynolds. While I was gone Miss Smith and Miss Carter and Janey Gravely stopped to see Josie and the baby. I would liked to have seen them but they did not come to see me.
Tonight Ben & Willie Mayhew has gone hunting.
