Lot 939. William Gridley--

Voted. That in accordance with the application of the heirs of the late William Gridley dated . George A. Gridley be designated for the time being to represent the lot (number 939) late of said Willaim Gridley and to vote in meetings of the Corporation.

John C Gray. chosen Trustee.

The Trustees then proceeded to the election of one to fill the vacancy in the Board (caused by the death of the late President, Joseph Story) until the next annual meeting. Said Election was had by ballot. The votes having all be given in and counted it appeared that John C. Gray, Esquire, was unanimously elected to fill said vacancy and the same having been formally announced by the President, the Secretary was instructed to communicate the fact of said election to Mr Gray and request his acceptance of the office.

Plan. of the grounds.

Voted. That H.M. Parker, the Secretary be authorized to dispose of the plate on which the plan of the Cemetery has been engraved, after the next edition, of the Catalogue shall have been completed, or to sell or allow any number of copies to be struck from it at such time to be published in a magazine, on such terms as he shall see fit.

No further business coming before the Trustees the meeting was adjourned.

Trustees.

Pursuant to notices issued in the usual manner by the Secretary, the Trustees met on in the office of C.P. Curtis Esqr Present Messrs Jacob Bigelow, Martin Brimmer, Geo. W. Crockett, B.R. Curtis, C.P. Curtis, B.A. Gould, John C. Gray, and Isaac Parker.

Dr. Bigelow from the committee on the Story memorial submitted the following report.

"Boston. "the committee appointed at the last meeting of "the Trustees of Mount Auburn Cemetery, to make inquir"ies respecting a suitable artist to execute a Statue of the "late Jude Story - report,

"That they have ascertained that Mr William "W. Story of this city has designed a bust of his father, "and also a small model of a full length statue, "both of which bid fair to convey a more just im"pression of the character, expression, and likeness "of the deceased than, in the opinion of the Commit"tee, the Trustees would be likely to obtain from "any other source.

"They therefore recommend the passage of "the following vote

"Voted. that a committee be appointed with full "power to contract with Mr Wm W. Story for a mar"ble statue of the late Mr Justice Story to be placed "by him in Mount Auburn chapel for a sum "not exceeding the amount which is or may be "subscribed for that object and in the hands of "the Trustees (Signed) Jacob Bigelow} M. Brimmer} Committee"

Proprietors.

Pursuant to the foregoing notice which was published in several daily newspapers printed in the City of Boston more than seven days in succession before the said time of meeting, the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, met at the time and place therein designated. A quorum having assembled. the President Dr Bigelow. took the chair

The treasurer's annual report was then read & accepted.

CATALOGUE

Voted. That the report of the Treasurer be appended to the next edition of the Society's catalogue, and distributed to the members of this corporation, one copy to each member gratuitously. It being understood that when the catalogues are ready the Secretary shall advertise in the newspapers signifying the time and place when and where Proprietors may obtain their copies

Trustees Chosen

The meeting then proceeded to the election of nine Trustees, by ballot. It appeared that twenty three votes were thrown all of which were for Jacob Bigelow, Martin Brimmer, George W. Crockett, Charles P. Curtis, Benjamin R. Curtis, Benjamin A. Gould, John C. Gray, Isaac Parker, and James Read. Which nine gentlemen were accordingly declared elected Trustees for the ensuing year. The meeting then dissolved -

Superintendant's Accounts

Mr Crockett from the Committee on Finance made a verbal report in relation to the accounts as kept by the Superintendant, and also a plan for simplifying the keeping of the books at the Cemetery; thereupon

Supt's Books.

Voted. That the Committee of finance be directed to procure a set of books in conformity with the plan recommended by them, and that they instruct the Superintendant to keep the accounts in said books.

Lot 103. White.-

Voted. That such one of the heirs of the late Abijah White of Watertown as may be designated by the unanimous written consent of the said heirs be designated to represent the lot owned by said White for the time being and to vote in the meetings of this Corporation.

The meeting then adjourned A true record Attest Henry M. Parker Secretary.

Trustees

A meeting of the Trustees having been called in the usual manner on notices issued by the Secretary to be held at the office of C.P. Curtis Esquire M. Messrs J.C. Gray, C.P. Curtis, and George W. Crockett were accordingly in attendance but no quorum being present the meeting was adjourned to at the same place.
