DECEMBER 17

19 Boys & I went to church. Taylors, Dawsons & McDougalls here for tea. Girls went to S.S.

19 Went to library & Wool. Mr. Learmonth here for dinner - very interesting. D. studying hard.

Wed 19 Papering begun. Went to Yonge St. Very mild. D. & Mary begin exams.

19 Had my hair done & shopped. H. home for tea. Snowing & very cold.

19 Fri. Mrs. Aitken broadcast about my book. Shopped & went to Peggy Brown's for tea.

DECEMBER 18

Mon. 19 Got humidifier & girls' twin beds. Took Hugh & Mary with McCallums to U.C. Xmas party. Lovely time.

Wed. 19 Cold & bright. Finished writing Xmas cards. Harold out. Read & knitted.

19 Went to Y.W.C.A. committee meeting. In evening H & I to presentation of R.B. Thomson's portrait at Hart House. Wore my new evening gown.

19 Went to Loblaws. To Heliconian Club Xmas dinner. Gold rush decorations very good. Very cold. Luella here for hea.

19 Sat. To Loblaws, baked cake & Anne baked cookies Mary & Don. had friend's in & danced.

DECEMBER 19

Tues. 19 Mary in with cold. Went to Luella's party 15th century. I dressed as fool. Lots of fun.

19 Had my hair done. H. & I to dinner at Granite club & heard "Dr. Chant" on "Nebulae." Fine pictures.

19 Luella & I went to look at houses. Kitchen painted & front bedroom papered.

19 Shopped, baked pies. H. & I to tea at Lorna Savage's. Below zero. children skiing.

19 To program at church. Anne in choir. Bill Kenyon came in. Nativity Play at B.S.S. - Mary in choir. Harold to Chicago.

39-43 DECEMBER 20

Wed. 19 Darned & mended. Carbon copy of my novel came from Mr. MacFarlane. Sent Xmas cards. Took Mary to church pageant.

19 Fri. raining. Anne home with cough. Went downtown for last shopping. Milder. Mailed cards.

Sat. 19 Went to Loblaws with Mary. Anne & Mary to parties. H. came home for tea.

19 Sun. Girls & I to church. 20 below zero. To Anne's Xmas play - she an angel. H. & I to Althouses for tea.

19 Mon. Washed. Had my hair done. Heliconian club - Xmas dinner. Family portrait album - lovley costumes very funny program.

DECEMBER 21

Thu. 19 Put up girls' new twin beds & rearranged rooms. Colder. Parties at school.

19 Sat. Boys & I went shopping [&?] H. came home early for tea Knitted & read. Anne has bad cough.

Sun. 19 Anne & I to church. Boys & I to S.S. service at 3. Cold. Went to hear Mary's choir at Church of Messiah. Stood up. Lovely service.

19 Washed. Very cold. Hugh to museum. Went to Loblaw's.

19 Made mincemeat. wrapped gifts. D. at home Mary shopping. Went to Bladens - Logans & Coats' there.
