Sun. 1939 Heavy snow. Harold reading "[Thru the - crossed out] Alice in Wonderland" to children. They went skiing. Anne sick.

19 Went to string tags for blind. Mrs. Buchard spoke. Harold out.

Wed. 19 Cold. Mary in bed with headache. Typed & mended. Harold out.

19 Thu. Met Mrs. Wright & went to string tags. Harold out. To lecture on"resuscitation" Luella came here.

19 Went to library & had my hair done. Snowing hard.

FEBRUARY 27

Mon. 19 Went to Prof. Alexander's to get my novel. To string tags for blind & to club in evening at Grube's.

Tues. 19 Typed and mended. Went to nutrition lecture with Mrs. Werry.

19 U.A.W.C. at museum. Mrs. Thompson spoke on Greek. Weaving class in evening. sent off novel mss.

19 Shopping with Luella & got new draperies. George Britnell here in evening. H. went to Ottawa

19 Shopped with Anne at Loblaws. Lunch with P.C. executive at Park Plaza. Kate Aitken resigned. Baked pies.

FEBRUARY 28

19 Rain & very icy. Worked on novel. H. & I went to Lohengrin. Gorgeous. Enjoyed it very much.

Wed. 19 Went shopping to Yonge St. Lovely bright weather.

19 Took Hugh to art gallery, I to Univ. library. Went to Binks's, Eve, Harriet & Marjorie there. Very cold.

19 Sat. Hugh & I shopped on Yonge St. D. to new house. Mended & knitted.

19 Sun. Girls & I to church. Murrays, Logans, Jaffarys here for tea. Cold.

Thu. 19 Went to lunch at U.W.C. to plan book reviews for U.A.W.C. Cold.

Wed. 19 Typed & mended. Cold & snowing. Wrote letters. Got book to review.

Fri 19 Had hair cut. Washed my hair. Went to Prof. [Urwick's?] lecture - excellent. D, Mary & I went to movies at school.

Sat. 19 Very cold. Shopped for Sunday. Pasted H's clipping book. Reading "Within a Budding Grove"

19 Sun. H. came back from Ottawa, worked all day. Have sore throat. Heard symphony. Went to bed early.

19 Mon. Washed. Entertained Hugh. Dr. Ogden says he has mumps. Cleaned.
