From the constant nois [sic] at this United States [hotel] that she declared she could stand it no longer - we had rooms about the middle of a long galery [sic] on which there were about 40 rooms the stairs came up just below our rooms and all the people tramped past our doors and they were going till [sic] 4 to go to bed and at it again by 5 - in the morning - I did not mind it but she got no sleep night or day and was realy [sic] getting sick - so off they went to private lodgings - They were so well pleased that William was persuaded to move here today - our rooms are very pleasant - we are on the principal street in a pretty cottage large trees in front - and on the first floor - I like my rooms (I have 2 - ) very much they are comfortable & well furnished - better than the Hotell [sic] - how I will like their ways is yet to be seen - our bill at the hotell [sic] was $351/2 for the 4 days we were there - & I think that was one reason W- decided on bringing me here -- the Kings are at the Union and are very anxious to come here too but wait till [sic] I hear from you what are Fathers [sic] movements - Poor old Man how he appears to cling to the thought that we will love & pity him -- I rise very early go to the spring with William - Cousin A & Mr W- & Becky taking John - drink three glasses - walk up to the rail road - sometimes take a ride round [sic] come

back drunk one or two more & go home - get breakfast - some days go again to the spring on others to the bath houses & baith [sic] -- in the evening walk - we went to see the Indian st - there is one - who I think is as lovely a being as I ever saw she is beautiful - and some 5 others who are very pretty - They make very pretty things but have learned to ask enormous prices for them - I wanted to get some of their things but they are too high for any common purse.

Every one thinks that I have improved wonderfully. They say I am three shades clearer already William says I must tell you he thinks we shall lea[ve] this for Niagra [sic] on this day week - that is if I continue to improve - in the mean time we are going to spend one day - [probably?] next Monday in visating [sic] Lakes George and Champlain by a rout Mr T. H. C. recommended - I wish dear F & Georgia would come in time to go with us on this trip - Be sure and let G- come to go to Niagra [sic] - I do miss you all sadly - it feels like months since we parted - Oh Mother - dear - how strong is love for all of you in my heart My little Anna! I am so sorry I did not bring her with me - - precious darlings kiss them each for me dear little Willie he I hope will learn to help himself ere long - I wish so to see & hear them again - Oh may they
