nothing certain as to when you are coming here or when he will take you South - I have been staying very quietly in the house - I do not feel like going out without you and the girls - Pray try and persuade Father to bring you all up as quickly as possible Butler is here and just off - & I wish him to take this up - so that if Father goes as he speaks of tomorrow he can take this & if not he can put it in the office - We are all quite - well - the children all miss you sadly - King is outragious [sic] that he cannot go to you - he talks of you so much - dear Mother I am jealous you have stolen all his heart - and you deserve his love far more than I do - Speaking of your coming here I have a very nice washerwoman - who will take all our wash & yours at 621/2 a [cheque?] - she washes very nicely - and is perfectly honest pleasant & obliging I have a most miserable [?] - And all the people are talking around me - Cousin A sends love and says how she grieves at not seeing you again - All send love to all - Good night my own beloved Mother May God bless & guard you - bursting to see you soon with fond love I am your own Child

My own dearest Sister

Do not for one moment do me the injustice to suppose, I could be offended, or hurt at any thing you could say, for when we know any one loves us too dearly to be capable of an intention to wound us, we never can doubt that what they say is said in love; A pretty time of day this would be, to let other peoples [sic] quarrels come between us, who have never had any quarrels of our own, "No No Parma" "not any" if you please.

I am twenty five Years old this day, & if it does not rain this evening, I will come over for my birthday Kiss.

With the same fond love I have ever fitt for You I am my dearest Sister Your most not fit brother T. Butler King Jnr

My own dearest Sister

I have been on the point of writing to you several times but some how when Mother or Georgia are at home, I think in writing to eather [sic] of them, as I am letting the all the family know of my whereabouts &c - that I have done as much as could be expected of a young man of my age & size. So our dear Mother & the girls are in Savannah, & you may be sure I was glad enough of it when I heard from Fathers [sic] own lips, that he he [sic] had brought them as far as Sav: where he had left them to spend some time. I arrived here on the 12th Lord had come the day before - & had intended to have left here with Ch's Stan: tomorrow on the Steamer
