July 9th Dr. Nathan called, Ellen Smith is better, she has not had fits so frequently. Charlotte Stanley called asking to be taken in again, I sent Miss Holland to Mrs Goodlet about it as Charlotte was not in a fit state to go herself, Mrs Goodlet sent word for her to come on Tuesday next, that the Ladies of the Committee may see her. The Laundress went out this afternoon.

Sabbath 10th The Laundress returned this morning and left again for the day. Revd W. Mills conducted morning service no afternoon service to day Mr Calley performed evening service I went out to early morning & evening, service. Miss. Holland to full morning service. Dr. Nathan called.

11th The Laundress returned this morning and apologized for remaining out saying that she had received intelligence of the death of a Brother in Law. Dr. Nathan called. Ellen Smith is getting much better.

12th Ladies Sub Committee Emily Dent & Bridget Mc Cann were admitted. Mr. Crane called

13th Louisa Kerrigan called asking to be taken in again, I sent her to Mrs. Goodlet for an order, she returned to tell me

July 13th That Mrs Goodlet could not give her an order for admittance at that time but told her to come next Tuesday and see all the Ladies of the Committee. Mrs Caldwell visited. Miss Holland went out this evening Mr Bowmaker held evening service. Mr Crane and Dr. Nathan called.

14th Mrs Joseph Thompson visited The Dean of Sydney held evening Service.

15th A wet day no visitors, nothing of importance has happened to day.

16th Four articles are missing this week from one wash one sheet, one colored petticoat, one pair of drawers, also one of the Refuge sheets. Miss Holland and the Laundress went out this afternoon. Dr. Nathan called

17th Sabbath Mr. Moses held morning Service Mr Crawford afternoon Do I read to the Imates during the evening. Miss Holland went out to morning prayer the Laundress went out in the morning, returning at 9 o clock p.m.

18th Needle work to be done, so Mrs Keene called about her washing which she requires to be done for her.

19th Ladies Sub Committee. Mary Ann Mitchell and Susan Graham desire to leave the Refuge, the Ladies have advised them to try it a little longer, The man Neenan called respecting Mary Ann, the Ladies spoke to him and he promised to return next Tuesday. The Ladies spoke to Ellen Adams or (Printiford) respecting her conduct during the last week she hasn't done any work and has spoken very rudely. I received a letter from Mr. Addington this morning which I laid before the Committee. I went out this evening after seven o'clock returning at nine. Mrs. Armstrong and Mills held a Temperance Meeting this evening Sixteen of the Inmates signed the pledge.

20th Mary Ann has expressed her sorrow to me for her rudeness to the Ladies of the Committee yesterday. Ellen Adams apologized to me for the unkind words she spoke to me during the last week. Miss Holland and the Laundress went out this evening Mr Gully held an evening service

July 21st Lady Belmore called to be present at a Dorcas Meeting, which did not take place, her Ladyship went round a part of the establishment it was too wet for her to visit the school she brought some interesting tale books for the Inmates. Miss. Manning called to see Mary Ann Mitchell. The Rev Mr Bode held evening service.

22nd Mrs J. K Campbell & Mrs Ebsworth called about their washing I am to send to both Ladies next Monday for their clothes. Susan Graham has not attempted to do any work since Tuesday, she says she wants to go out and will not work. A Mr. Smithers of Grafton who has already had two servants from this Institution, called to know if we had a young girl that he could take back with him as a Servant, I told him we had no young girl whose time of (twelve months) had expired at present but in another two months we might be able to supply him with one, the two girls he had from this place are both of them married comfortably.

23rd Mr. Drury moved the mangle this morning into the folding room the change will save much unnecessary carrying backwards and forwards besides which the Laundress will

23rd have the opportunity of superintending the clothes being mangled. The clothes were all correct to-day and sent out early. Miss Holland and the Laundress went out this afternoon

Sabbath 24th Rev'd W. Mills held morning service Mr Gibson afternoon Do No minister attended this evening I read to the Inmates I went out to morning service Miss Holland went out afternoon & evening the Laundress went out before morning service.

25th The Laundress came home this morning at nine o' clock Mrs Magregor visited. Miss Dunn brought some needle work to be done. The yearly meeting for the Refuge took place this morning. Miss Holland and myself went to it.

26th Mrs Caldwell visited Ladies Sub Committee. Susan Graham left at her own desire. she had refused to work during the whole of the last week. By the decision of the Ladies of the Sub Committee I told the Laundress that they would not require her services after next Friday week Aug 25th
