& so good horseman as you are you now tired with the Wingen ride? What do you think was the state of my bones on Thursday, after riding on Wednesday from the Meadows to Kiama!! & back!! & next morning to Wollongong!! I was as if my legs were not my own. I feel the effects still however I never enjoyed a trip more, & have a great hankering after the highlands. Since I wrote I have spoken to Barber & he enters with proper spirit into my cottage scheme, that is at Berrima beside the waters that go smoothly, so that I think we shall test your good offices in the cause by & bye. We have not resolved upon it at once because of a hundred acres at the Kurrajong which he can have at a low figure if he desires them & he has a wish to examine before deciding. I did not tell him that Horton would probably give him a little cheerful conversation at Berrima that might have decided the matter. Next time you visit Yarrawa have a look at the land you mentioned looking over the swamp or rather the wide expanse of (to be) highly improveable land.
