front of my face to feel sticks, booughs &c. We had to go at a good smart canter to head the cattle & got them all back at 10 oclock. Three of us then turned in for ½ night and at 12 oclock got up and watched till six. It was pouring all the time and the following day so that for three days I had not a dry stitch on me.

Raff has left and gone some where with sheep.

My dear Mr Hassall

I have this evening received the following telegram from Rockhampton.

"Very urgent presentation boards decision is that Leigh remain for three 3 months at any rate." Frank N. Buldell Rockhampton"

My dear Mother

I recd. your letter of 15th and must answer your questions. You must do with [indecipherable] as you think but as to learning Frlench, if Mrs. O'Connor does not include that in her list of studies she ought to & I would not pay extra for it. I got Father's letter yesterday with full up of your trip after returning from Melbourne.

Florrie can't manage so far but we get plenty of nice walks together these cold afternoons. Eric had another tooth attack similar to what he had just before you came but he is all right now &

more frisky than ever. We go in well for fires, generally one in my office all day now. Snow has fallen all around us but we have not had any yet.

Today is Queens birthday but I'm not out, have been busy selling sheep at 1/6 a head. Hope to do some gardening this evening. Well I've no news for you, Hanson has not sent your cheque or I should send it on.

With love to all Your aff. son
