I send herewith Original and Copy Subpoena the latter to be served on Davis imediately and the person serving it must at the same time show the Original and state that it is such and afterward mark at the Back of the original the day of service. You will perceive that the return is the 1st of Sept. not that the Trial will take place that day but I wish in the meantime that Davis and Featherstone should both be at your [indecipherable] ready at a moment at any time to come down to me. Of the time of trial which in all probability will be early in the next month I will give you due notice. - I have consulted with Mr. Stephen and we are all opinion that it is as well that the [indecipherable] evidence you made also should be made available so keep her in the way. I have called at Mr. Walker's once or twice [indecipherable deleted] they promise to let me have the money on Wednesday next. On receipt I will settle immediately with Rowe however I wish before Wednesday if in time you would write to Walker requesting him to let me have the money as soon as possible.

I perceive Royal's debt is continued to October 1827 one Receipt states in full paid up to June only of that year. I wish youd write to me and let me know where this Royal was after June whether so near as to have any dealings with Featherstone The last 2 items in Royals account are 1827

Can Featherstone give any information as to the [indecipherable] (in Royal's particulars of demand) for liound: £9.19.0 stated to be drawn on R's farm by Capt. [indecipherable]

This is exclusive of the order (that F admitted he received and afterward paid for liound: £ 7.0.0) on Capt. [indecipherable]

My Dear Sir,

With more than usual pleasure I take you in hand to ackn owledge your kindness in giving me a short account of your domestic circle in which I often notice you as the kind husband and friend in Katherine -[indecipherable] although I have not the pleasure of knowing, I trust (by what I have heard) is calculated to complete what we oft term a happy [indecipherable] may you be long spared no mutual [indecipherable] an very held dream little babes follow their parents so far as they follow Christ - my nieces which I believe I before told you were married and became mothers of familys - Eliza a happy match a good man - consquently they are very comfortable but not without their trials as he is frequently afflicted [indecipherable] Poor Mary Ann is miserable although I think I can say without partiality an [indecipherable] indeed in calibre is no guide - a husband coming home intoxicated using bad language you can easily judge what these feelings must be - if you remember what kind of character she was Oh what a grief to her affectionate parents and indeed to us all - how is it this is permitted but this we must leave
