Church Society Home June 17th 1868

My dear Sir,

At the last monthly meeting of the Committee of the Church Society, a subCommittee was appointed to promote the formation of auxiliaries. There appears  reason to believe that no auxiliary exists

exists in your Parish.

The society is greatly in need of increased aid to enable it to meet the pressing applications which, from month to month, are made for apurtenance, and which its present income does not enable it to sustain.

The Sub-Committee will feel much obliged if you [indecipherable] kindly [indecipherable] the consideration of your Church - wardens, and write them to take such steps as may be necessary for the purpose of forming an auxiliary to increase the funds of the [indecipherable] Society.

Dear Mr Hassall

I write to remind you of your promise to get me a few tree ferns to send to Ireland

Mr Moore of the Botanic Gardens has kindly promised to pack them for me for the voyage if you will send them to him. I should like about half a dozen.
