We want to give Kate a present the day she is married and we think a Ladies dress case would be the best thing it would last her all her life, and she has not got one, Mother says it may go as high as thirty shillings will you try and get one and bring it up with you, we were so hurried or I intended to have looked for one when we were in

[MS1685] Sydney. Poor Betsy Baker is dead, she died for want of water I think for she was so weak that she could not get out of a waterhole most [indecipherable] a waterhole for we have had no rain to speak of but drywinds the last week. I suppose we shall see you on Tuesday with love to your self and George, believe me dear James Your affect sister Marrianne Hassall

[MS1688] yds it will take for I think the expense will be much lessened by purchasing the materials ourselves. I have been spending the time with your Mother since Monday I am sorry to say she is very poorly & weak, her cough is trouble some, we go to the Parsonage again today. The Children have all caught colds and have Marianne's eyes are still inflamed My Father would not recom mend me to take a woman out of the Factory.

[1689] I am almost sure [indecipherable]? of whatever alterations you may make. Wheatley tells me he has brought my Parrot down safe. The team is waiting and George is going for his bottle. I am obliged to leave of without writing half I had to say. Your Mother and Ann beg their love & the Children send plenty of kisses to their Papa & I am my dearest Thomas yours most affectionately A Hassall

My dear Thomas I wrote to you late on Friday night in a hurried and rather discontented mood since which I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr Keane (who has come up to Preach at Kissing Point today) and having an opportunity of forwarding you a letter either today or tomorrow I hasten to communicate what Mrs Keane said "He informed Mr Scott of his promise to you respecting Port Macquarie" and that Mr T replied "we'll let Mr Hassall remain at Bathurst I was rather surprised he refused it before" Mr K is to take the Appin School: perhaps if you have not recieved an order from the Rector to come down and have said yes started you had better remain where you are until I can hear something more decisive [indecipherable] Hill [Mr Mrs?] Keane will be up on Tuesday to the examination Mr [indecipherable] who was in Sydney yesterday informed Elizth he thought it

very probable you would go to Bathurst but she did not learn where he had his information from. When Fish came down Samuel was very unwell but [Lucy?] did not write so I hope he is not seriously so. I have not time to write more as the bell will ring for Church. I wish we could have both met at the communion to-day for if you remember it was on Easter Sunday I first ventured. I fear this day finds me but very [indecipherable] on the narrow path [indecipherable] so many years have [indecipherable] way which now seem lost in oblivion, but may I remember that one day the [actions?] of these years will all be retraced and may the [indecipherable] [indecipherable] to be watchful and more prayerful in future and believe me My dearest Thomas Ever your's faithfully & affectionately Anne Hassall
