FINANCIAL PLANNING
From this point [insert] ~3 /81 [/insert] onward, I can plan how much I expect to have to pay for things and how much income I can expect. Thus I can formulate a financial plan. this will usually be shown in another book, like my diary for example.

NEVER Carry checks since Wells Frago only pays first $500 and has to know amount of check in order to stop it. No good if someone steals checks & writes in amount.

Income and taxes
I started in New Mexico with
$104.04 from Bank America
936.26 Federal tax reimbursement
449.01 Calif " "
241.03 NM " "
in checking account at Bank of NM. Also there was $400 in cash. The tax reimbursements were owed me simply due to excess withholding in 1977, so they were assets even then.
Income from 1978 from Microsoft
48 wks * 48 hours/wk * $16/hr = 36864
(vacation) 2 wks * 40 hours/wk * $16/hr = 1280
[total] 38144
Considering this a base income, the federal computed tax was $11887 leaving my bracket at 50% with $2806 left in it, and the state tax was computed to be $1768.52, leaving bracket at 8% with lots of room above. There was a $180 general federal tax credit, plus an unexplained $53.85 refunded me later, so federal tax on MicroSoft salary was $11653.15. The $5 general store State tax rebate gives a state salary tax of $1763.52
