BOOKKEEPING
Starting 1978 Created in late 1980
I have satisfied several financial information needs for both current and long term usage by way of this bookkeeping system. They are
- not being overdrawn on checking
- agreement with banks records at every checking acct report time
- a way of remembering who owes me reimbursements
- a long term history of major expenditures, plus minor expenditures lumped into one
- where I stand financially at every monthly bookkeeping point

The CHECKING Register is simply a list of all deposits and all check payments not yet acknowledged by the bank, kept so I won't be overdrawn and so I can remember what an unreturned check is for.
When a check is written for CASH or for something that would be lumped into the CASH ACCT like groceries, drycleaning, etc., that is of course also written is the Check Register List. However, when Cash is used to pay for an item to remember in long term history account, it should be noted till the next bookkeeping point in the CASH Register.
At bookkeeping time, all returned checks have their amounts transferred out of the Check Register and placed in one of these accounts
- a HISTORY account
- a CASH (lump expenditures)
- CHK REIMB account

- a HISTORY account
- CASH REIMB account
