9th month 1869

3rd 21st Had troublesome time getting rid
of my load, as it was 11.30 before I
got through. I then went to 244 F'st
chatted a few minutes. got some boxes
and started home. Arrived here
at 7.15 PM. pretty tired. Father &
men cutting corn all day.
Signs of a gust after dark but
no rain.

4th 22 Ben Kiah and self picking up Apples
till 11 when we ground enough to
make 1 bbl. of drinking cider.
Father over to Clendenens after
meat. After dinner the men
picked up apples to the amt.
of a cart load. Father and
self made 23 1/2 bbles of cider.
Griffith Serch made 2 bbls of
cider in the morning. Cloudy
most of the day.

5th 23 Ben & Kiah hawling wood in morn
Father and I making cider. After
dinner the two men & self cut corn.
Father took the wagon to shop.
At 6 PM we all went to Ley[cenind?].
to hear a lecture dilivered by Benj
Hallowell concerning his trip
out to Nebraska. It was exceedingly
interesting. Cloudy all day.
