9th month 1869

6th 17 Had heavy gust early in the morn
At 10.30 AM I said good bye to
all & left for Washington with
load of potatoes & Apples & the
girls trunks got there at 5.30 PM
sold 3 1/2 bbles of Apples at 2 pr bbl.
met Charlie Kirk & Brooke at
Butlers restaurant. rainy after dark

7th Men hawling dirt from ice house
& cutting wood.

7th 18 Sold my 12 bus of potatoes by
8.30 PM. at 80 & 85 ct. Then
went to Depot and met Clara
& Genie took their bundles to their
house & talked with them for an
hour. started back at 11.30 AM
got home by 5.30. After tea
I finished Claras basket.

1st 19 At home all day. In morning
got moss for basket after
dinner I slept. After tea I
wrote up this diary which I
have neglected for two weeks

2nd 20 Kiah & self got load of apples & potatoes
ready and at 9.45 in company with
Charlie Woodhil started for Washington
arrived there at 5.30. got pr shoes @ $4.25
& hat @ $2.00. at 7.30 PM. I went to
Mrs Blisses and spent the evening. had
very pleasant time. Father & men cutting corn
