Sat,rained some, Geo. hewed Mar 5th. posts under the shed at the barn. Mar 6th. Went to meeting after meeting went to Brookeville for Mr. Riggs to come and see Gip he having the Erysipelas Monday plowed half day Father went to Bal, Tuesday snowed. Wednesday [?] Cowed in the morning Seb Geo to Laurel for Father in the afternoon thursday rained Geo hewed posts, Friday rainy Saturday put on a load of 2nd [?] of clover hay took to Ashton got weighed and took to Jos Hallowell Weighed 2686 lbs hay, put the rest on the wagon in the evening, Sunday took mother to the [Laurel?] to go to the Q.M. Mar 14th Monday Went to plowing for oats two teams sowed two acres 15th plowed and sowed 2 acres 16th Ground frozen too much to harrow Plowed [?] [?]was here fencing between the orchards and meadows Thursday 17th Eddie Hallowell & I went to [Burtonsville?] with C [?] for wheat on five horses, [] 17 of [fresher?] got [?] flour, also some flour & feed for Jas [?] [?] 18th. Geo. plowed some & [?] some Sat. 19th John took Father to the [Laused?] Finished sowing oats between [& canes?] I went to the lunch for [?] on [?] Sunday Jas folks all have to dinner 20th I went to Phil's after dinner

to see A.G. Gilpin Mon 21st Went to Wash with a load of Clover hay, got 1.3 [?] per hhd had 2220 lbs, took Geo with me brought back bones to G. E. Brookes Wed 23rd Killed red steer in morning put on load of Timothy hay 24th Took to town [?] 8200 [?] hand 2600 lbs sold to Newton. 25th Came home emty rain evning boy be as [illegible] bore 26 Saturday rainy day 27th Sunday Aunt Sallie Brook and Jas [?] dined here I took Aunt Sallie home in the evening. 28th Easter Monday boys took holiday 29th Commenced to make hay lane fence Blair came here in the evening

Mon 30th Wednesday Snowed all day went to meeting 31st I felt quite unwell all day. Blair and Father went up to Buoy Davis's boys broke some stone on a pike. April 1st 1864 Blair went home, we opened 3 heaps of potatoes found two of them nearly entirely rotten, and it commenced to rain so that we had to leave the good ones. April 2nd Coverd up with a sheat. Snowed hard all day, I worked in Blacksmith shop in morning Geo greased wagon harness. I went to the Lyceum in the afternoon to a reunion meeting and beat Guano

April 3rd Judge Blair, Judge Bowie and Ex Gov Randall spoke 4rd Sunday Went to meeting Went to Charlie Stabler's and to Phils, Mon 4th Worked in shop commenced to snow and rain at noon, annual meeting at the Lyceum, to elect officers. 5th Rain all day 6th Went to the election, stopped at the William J. Thomas's to tea. 7th Took Sister to Phil's and got two horses shod. 8 Friday Took a load of Pine wood to Washington sold to J S hallowell @ 8$ per cord
