Tuesday Dec. 28,^th 1897.

Clear & frosty again. "Wil" finished
putting curtains on his jagger. I took
"Charley" horse to Clark's shop to have
him rough shod, going after breakfast,
and found twelve horses there
before me. I went again after him
(having left him there) about 2.o'clk
& found they had not touched him.
Edwd went after him at sunset and
they had just finished shoeing him.
Willie, Fanny & baby went to "Fairfield"
about 2.o'clock this afternoon.

There was a shooting contest (at "clay
pigeons") today in Scott's meadow.
some persons from Washington & quite
a number from the neighborhood
were there. After supper Edwd went
to "Mt Airy" to the "Singing class".

Went to see Old Mr Oldfield again
this morning & found him much better
I walked to the toll house to enquire
after Frank Leizear Sr. who is still
unable to get home, but is much improved
& it is thought will be able
to come home on Sunday next if the
weather is favorable.

Wednesday Dec. 29, 1897.

Edwd. & Frank Robison took my
"Charley" horse & Henderson's cart &
went to "Fairfield" to help haul ice.
they left here after early breakfast
and were at home again before sunset.
I went to the mill and to the
P.O. before dinner & walked down to
Ashton afternoon. Alice Tyson
was here for advice & medicine
for little Tyson Marshall.

It has clouded over & wind
to S.E. & N.E. and feels like snow
raw & cold. I find it hard to keep
warm, however good the fires may
be, except whilst hard at work
sawing & splitting wood or some
such work.
