Wind N.W. Clearing Ther. Fri. April 3d. 1896.

The ground was white with snow this morning, but soon was gone. Mary Foreman (colored) was here for me to see her infant daughter and I rode over & prescribed for it at Levi Hopkin's, who lives in one of F Doloney's houses, opposite Saml Budd's. Remus Hill Sr. & his son Charles were here & I extracted a tooth for Remus. Afternoon I walked down to Ashton for some medicine etc. met Thomas S Stabler there and he came home with me to supper & spend the night with us. I went up to the Store.

Wind. N.W. Clear & Cloudy Ther. 28o Sat. April 4th, 1896.

Quite cold again this morning. Thomas S Stabler left after breakfast. I went up to the Store & P.O. Bro. Charles called. Afternoon I went again to the P.O. Edward has been awaiting a sign for S B. Wetherald, announcing him agent for the sale of "Columbia Bicycles". Thos Stabler came back before supper to bring me some tobacco from Brighton. He and Edward walked down to Edwd. Bentley's after supper to spend the evening. I went up to the store again for some eggs.

Wind. Variable. Clear. Ther. 30o Sun. April 5, 1896

This has been a beautiful day. Thos S Stabler left after breakfast. I went to meeting, and heard a sermon from Edwd Farquhar. After supper I walked up to the toll house. Mary Foreman & Carrie Hopkins were at the office, for advice & medicine for Mary's infant daughter: they were home about 3.30 this afternoon.

Wind. Variable Rainy & Clearing. Ther. 40 Mon. April. 6th, 1896.

I went up to the store & P.O. Old Jno. W Johnson was here for advice & medicine. Also Addie Bell (colored) who lives on Asa Stablers lower place. Afternoon I drove up to Brighton to see Perry Bowman's daughter again. Frank Robison went with me. I walked home from P.T. Stabler's calling at Ashton. Mary E Hardesty was here for advice & medicine. Frank Robison brought some flour from P.T. Stabler's for his mother. Edward brought a sign board he is painting for Saml Wetheralds home with him to finish it.

Wind N.W. Clear & Cloudy. Ther. 32 Tues. April 7th, 1896.

We have had various kinds of weather today. It was clear this morning for a time and about 10.o'clk it commenced snowing and for a short time looked like a real snow storm, but cleared off again, and was quite cold with strong N.W. winds. I walked down to Robert Blair's and had my hair cut, before dinner. Afternoon went over to Mrs Robisons & prescribed for her again. Mr James Duck was there and came over & smoked a pipe with me. Went to the store & P.O. After supper Edwd went with Mrs Robison's folks over to Mrs Ellicott's for a game of whist.

Wind N.W. Clear. Ther. 28. Wed. April. 8th, 1896

I started to ride to Brighton on horseback & met Willie coming over on a bicycle to borrow "Frank" & the buggy to take some mill feed to "Fairfield". I turned back and W drove over with the feed and back to dinner. Afternoon he went to "Fairfield" again on the bicycle. Eliza Green Howard was here for advice & medicine. Mrs Powell's daughter called and paid me $1.50 on her father's account. After supper I walked up to the store.

Wind. Variable. Clear & Cloudy. Ther. Thur. April 9th, 1896.

Weather was beautiful until towards evening when it clouded over and between 5 & 6.o'clock it commenced raining. I went up to the store this morning and from there walked over to Arthur Stabler's to see "Old John". Chas A Snowden was here for examination etc. for an injury to his side which was inflicted on Sunday last by Perry Campbell, (the man who murdered old Joe Evans several years ago) and should either have been hung, or at least serving out a life sentence in the penetentiary. Afternoon went up to Henderson's for some butter. I telephoned to Dr Chas Farquhar's this morning to tell them about the umbrella I borrowed there some time ago. Edwd finished Saml Wetherald's Bicycle Sign I took it up to him. After supper Edwd went with Harold & Nora Stabler to a meeting of the "Phernaskia" at Philip T Stablers.

Wind. N.E. Cloudy. Ther. 38o Fri. April 10th, 1896.

Cloudy and threatning all day, drizzling rain part of the time, and damp & disagreeable all the time. I went to the store & P.O. Alcinda Hill "washed" for H. After supper I walked up to see Saml Wetherald for Edward about the "Bicycle Club" meeting at Dr. R Brooke's tonight. Edwd sending us invitation fee for membership.

Wind. S.E. Cloudy & Drizzle. Ther. Sat. April 11, 1896

Another dull disagreeable day. I walked down to Ashton & up to Sandy Spring before dinner. Afternoon Chas Hill (of Remus) came for me & I drove over to see his father taking C with me & bringing him back for medicine for Remus. "Addie" Bell (colored) & her mother were at the office for advice etc. Willie & Fanny came about 5.o'clk p.m.

Wind. S Clear. Ther. 40 Sun. April 12th, 1896.

This has been a pleasant spring day. I went to meeting. After dinner I drove over to Remus Hill Sr's to see him again. Willie went with me. Dora & Fanny walked over to see "Minnie" at Atholwood, and Willie drove over in the buggy and took a "dressing case" that belonged there. Sam Stabler called this afternoon. After supper Willie & Fanny went to "Fairfield". I walked up to the P.O. & mailed some letters.
