Wind NE & SE Cloudy 6o
MON. JAN. 6th, 1896.

Cold, cold. Willie & Fanny
went back to "Fairfield" after
breakfast. I went up to the store.
There was quite a large gathering
at the annual greeting
of the Insurance Co. held in
the Lyceum building. I went
down to Ashton & also up to
the store & P.O. The "Baltimore
Daily Sun" commenced coming
to me today. Went up to
the mill for screenings.

Wind S.E. Cloudy 18o
TUES. JAN. 7th, 1896.

Cold & raw. Cloudy all day
& towards evening some snow
fell, not enough to cover the
ground. Went up to the store
& P.O. Took Edwds shoes up
to Jno Oldfield to have them
"half soled". Rode on horseback
down to see B Owen Hardy &
lanced a perineal abcess
for him. Afternoon went to
the mill for horse feed &
bought 94lbs of coal from
Henderson. Henry Powell
was here & I extracted a tooth
for him. Paid Phil Robison
for going to Laurel for Edwd.
After dark "Tom" Hove came
for Edward, who went with
him & a party "skating",
he went on horseback. I was
opposed to his going on account
of the extreme cold & darkness.
