Ther. 72 MON. JULY 17th, 1893 Variable Wind

The sun was extremely hot
until about noon. I took
Sister Harriet to Chas Stabler's
& left her to make them a visit
We had quite a storm that
came up suddenly about noon
it Rained violently for some
time with some thunder and
lightning. It cleared off again
Mrs Hattersley Talbot and
Sheriff Fairall called. and
spent an hour with me.
Dora went to Bloomfeld to
call upon Mary Parker after
supper. Edwd & Bessie went
up to Henderson's, I also
walked up & sat awhile.

Ther. 73 TUES. JULY 18th, 1893 SW Wind

Still very hot in the "sun-
shine" & "close" everywhere. I drove
down to Chas. Stabler's and got
two bushels of shelled white corn
@ 60 [cents] per bushel. I exchanged it
at the Mill for same quantity of
"cracked" corn, paying 7 [cents] per bushel
for the grinding. Afternoon I
hoed the ballance of the corn.
Mr: "Lamar" from Rockville was
here to see me; he is a candidate
for the House of Delegates., in the
coming democratic primary
election. A storm passed north
of us soon after dinner, it came
very near giving us another
storm. I got 11/2 bushels of bran
& mixed it with 1 bushel of
my cracked corn leaviing the other
bushel at the Mill until I
need it.
