Extremely hot after the sun
came out until afternoon when
a breeze sprung up from S.W.
Mrs R R Moore Jr: sent word that
her infant daughter was much
better & I need not come to see
her today. I drove down to Ashton
& back before dinner taking
"Bessie" with me. Afternoon I
hoed in the late corn patch.
and again after supper until
dark. and am very tired and
"sore" from over exertion and
the effect of the heat. but
I must do all I can to keep
the weeds down & Raise some-
thing on the lot.

meeting. I felt quite unwell
the hot weather having lasted
