AUGUST, TUESDAY 30th 1887.

Charley came home from
taking Miss Fanny Rust to
Wm Cauley's after the dance
at Grange Hall Olney about
3-45 a.m and went to the
store at S Spring in time to
make up the mail having
promised to attend to affairs
there to day for Saml Wetherald
whilst he went to Balto: Herbert
Kirk left in the stage for
home. C managed to break
the top of the buggy last night
so that it is "done for" & we took
it off. At noon I drove up
& prescribed for Caleb Pumphrey
Jr: Willie went to Leizear's
for chickens early afternoon
Mrs Jack Johnson was here
for advice & med: etc. for herself
& little son. Mary Hill
(wife of Jno Ed:) also here for advice
& med: Jno Bentley went
& took away the gray colt
very unexpectedly & uncerimoniously.
much to C's disgust
after what had passed between them

AUGUST, WEDNESDAY 31st 1887.

I drove to Rachael Gilpin's
to invite Uriah & Harriet
Kirk here to dine. Bro: R
called on way to meeing
Bro Chas brought Lizzie
Mrs: & Miss Pancoast and
Bro Richard came back from
meeting and dined here,
with the others. Afternoon
we all went up to the field
beyond the store to a "baseball"
match game between
Howard & Montgomery which
was won by the latter nine.
The friends (including Dora)
went from there to a "Lawn party
at Mrs Saml: Janney's given
in aid of the Episcopal church
Charley & Willie also went
after supper, driving "Jack"
the colored preachers horse
which Chas hired. W came
home (walking) about 10.o'clk
& C at 11-40.
