20° Clear & Cloudy Variable January, Saturday 1, 1887

Sun rose clear but soon clouded over & continued cloudy until afternoon. Bro Charles came over to consult me about his son Richard. I drove down to Ashton. Willie with me in the sleigh. Charles and Willie came home from the "Ball" about 1.45 this a.m. The sleighing is good on the ice for there is very little snow. After dinner Charley went in the sleigh driving "Kit" to "Elton" to spend the night. Edward in bed again all day. Willie went to Danl Bank's & brought home 1 1/2 bushels of potatoes. After supper I walked up to Jos: J Henderson's to see about getting chickens.
