SEPTEMBER, THURSDAY 1st 1887.

I washed the buggy and
drove over to Riverside and
brought Dora home. Charley
& Willie drove the colored
preacher's horse "Jack" up
to Washington Bowie's to
see him about purchasing
a horse. Afternoon Frank
Cook from the steam mill
came to me to have his
hand dressed having had
it caught in the "elevators"
and cut two of the fingers
of his left hand badly.
C & W came home about
4.o'clk p.m. After supper
Charley took Dora over to
Jno M Smith's to a "Reception"
given by them (Smith's) to Mary
Ellicott Thomas. W rode the
bicycle to Olney "Good Templar's
Russel Stabler called to see
W. C & D came home about
10.o'clk & I went with C
in the road cart to take the
preacher's horse home.

SEPTEMBER, FRIDAY 2d 1887.

Charley went up to S S.
and made up the mail for
Saml Wetherald. I drove down
to Ashton & left wash basin
at Bulwar's. fternoon Jno
Hopkins was here with "tooth
ache." Charley & Willie slept
most of the day trying to
"catch up." I do not feel
at all well to day. having
head ache. The weather is
much warmer again &
we feel it more after the
delightfully cool "spell"
we have had.
