62 Clear. NW Ther. Tues. June 9, 1885 Wea.

Delightfully cool and pleasant day. Willie did not feel well enough to go to school today. Alice & Fanny Peirce came & spent the afternoon & to tea with us. This is Edward's ninth birth day, & we had a little "tea party" for him, his cousin Alice Dickinson & the four children from next door. I took the carriage down to the Eut's to have the coupling lengthened & the body swung lower between the springs. After supper Charley went away driving Bulwar's horse. to "Olney Grange" &c &c.

65 Clear &Cloudy. Variable Ther. Wed. June 10, 1885 Wea.

Willie did not go to school. I mended the pump Rod. & "staked" the tomato vines in the garden. Just after we had done dinner Bro Chas brought Nelly & his two Children over "bag & baggage," to go tomorrow morning in the stage on their way to Philada Dora expects to to go at the same time to make a visit to her aunt Harriet Sister Beulah came & spent this afternoon & took tea, taking Alice Dickinson home with her Miss Fannie Stabler came after tea to spend the evening. Ernest & Julian Gartrell came about the time Charley came from the store & spent the rest of the evening.

65. Clear. N.W Ther. Thurs. June 11th, 1885 Wea.

Still another lovely day. Dora & Nelly & N's two children left in the stage for Laurel & Philadelphia, Dora going to make her aunt Harriet a little visit, & Nelly to her father by adoptions near Philada Robt Awkard was here for advice & for his granddaughter. I took C. down after dinner & to see how the carriage was getting on

69 Clear. S.W Ther. Fri. June 12, 1885 Wea.

Considerably warmer today, Mrs. Elijah Leizear here for treatment advice etc. Martha A Wright called and paid me for her bill. Willie brought Jas: P Stabler's bicycle here & "cleaned it up." I drove C down to Ashton after dinner, and went again after tea for tobacco &c. Willie took C's bicycle down for him to ride home, the broken parts of it having come up from Laurel today & we put it together again. Edward went with the children from next door, to "Avalon" to tea with Mrs Robinson Miss Lizzie Fowler. Read postal card from Herbert Kirk announcing the safe arrival of Dora & Nelly. in Philada last evening.

68 Clear & Cloudy S.W. Ther. Sat. June 13th, 1885 Wea.

Charley did not get home from the "dancing party" at Brookville Academy until 2.o'clock this a.m. Wilber Cissell called for advice & medicine again "(Urticaria)". Sent Willie to try to collect some money. After dinner I went to Ashton & brought the carriage home with me. Willie went down to see Jarrett Lee. I sent in a "proved" account against Cyrus Bowen's estate to Remus Hill (Administrator). Sent it by his son "Levi".

70 Clear S.W. Ther. Sun. June 14th, 1885 Wea.

J. Marlow's apprentice (Henry Barton) & Jno Howard here the former for advice & med, the latter to have a tooth extracted. Robt Awkard also here for advice & med. for his grand daughter. Charley & Willie started for a bicycle ride but C, broke his "machine" & they came back. Jarrett Lee's boy brought me some money. After tea Charley & I drove over to Riverside & got some butter.

72 Clear. S.W. Ther. Mon. June 15th, 1885 Wea.

Quite warm all through last night. The locusts kept up their "chorus" at intervals the entire night. Ernest here before 6.o'clock to breakfast with C. Willie went to Brookeville acadamy (in the spider) and paid Mr Nelson Ten Dollars Shower about noon Heavy thunder gusts went both north & south of us Tom Budd Jr. here for advice & medicine &c.

73o Clear. W Ther. Tues. June 16, 1885 Wea.

Wm Platt came at 9.o'clk this morning and placed the ballance of the lot for corn &c. we planted the corn & some potatoes. After noon we had a fine rain just after we had finished putting in the corn etc. Sort of a "gust" just at supper time, Charles walked us home from the store Rained "hard" at intervals up to late bed time.

67. Rain & Cloudy. Ther. WED. JUNE 17, 1885 Wea.

Rained nearly all through last night, and early this morning & cloudy all day. Mrs Sophie Robinson here for advice & medicine for herself "neuralgia" & scurvy of the gums. Afternoon Tom Budd Jr. here again to see me. Willie took Cs. bicycle over to Sharon & brought it back again. he also took Marlon's harrow home.

64. Clear; N.W. Ther. THURS. JUNE 18th, 1885 Wea.

Cool & pleasant this morning After breakfast I drove over to Robt Awkard's to see his granddaughter; home via Mrs Janney's & Walnut Hill. bringing Charley home from Ashton to dinner. Afternoon Willie went to Fulford to get some cherries. In the evening Charley & Willie went to the Lyceum to hear a Mrs "Foxwell" " Read or lecture. they had a very slim audience (about 15 persons).
