I shall be obliged if you will furnish me with aboriginal names and their meanings for stations on the Mary Valley Line at the following mileages:-

2 Miles 21 Chains - Bloodwood and gum, high ridges. 4 Miles 72 Chains - Gum, oak, and ironbark forest. 9 Miles - Ironbark forest. 10 Miles 70 Chains - Cultivation. 14 Miles 70 Chains - Cultivation.

I shall be glad to hear from you at an early date.

Sir,

Referring to your communication of the 17th instant asking to be furnished with an aboriginal name suitable for a station on the Blackall-Windorah extension. In further reference to this matter I would call your attention to my latters of the first of January and tenth of April of this year, and to earlier communications in which several aboriginal names were submitted.

I am now giving you a few additional names one of which may suit your purpose,

Sir,

In reply to your letter 11.1704 of the 16th instant,I have to advise that the Superintendent of the Barambah Aboriginal Settlement states that the names "Ekeeby"and"[Tayoon?]" are not known to any of the aboriginals on the Settlement, but Tagon, the nearest he can find to the second work is the name of a tree growing in the [Mareebah] district.
