The 29th Rule was suspended and the Council went into
Committee of the whole on the second reading of the By Law
entitled "A By Law to appoint two Collectors for the Municipality
of the City of Kingston and for other purposes

Ald McGuire in the Chair
The Council resumed. The Committee rose and the Chairman
reported the second reading of the By Law clause by clause.
The Report was received. The By Law was read a third time
and passed.
Yeas: The Mayor, Aldermen Anglin, Clements, Dupuis, Gaskin,
JP Gildersleeve, Harty, Irving, Law, McCammon, McGuire,
McMahon, McRossie, Pense (14)
Nays: Aldermen Allen, Maloney, Snook (3)

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Dupuis
Ordered, That the Mayor be instructed to have the
Collectors insert a separate item for school tax, in their Bills
so that the electors may know the amount paid for school tax
in each case.

A By Law respecting the assessment of certain property
was read a first time.

The By Law was read a third time and passed
Ald McGuire introduced "A By Law" to levy for the lawful
school purposes and liabilities of the Board of Trustees of
the Roman Catholic Separate Schools for the City of Kingston
for the year 1880, which was read a first time.
