Ald Harty moves seconded by Ald Clements
That having heard the explanation of the Mayor and
Aldermen Allen and Gaskin in relation to the Hulton contract
a/c this Council is of the opinion that no wrong was intended by
the parties thereto but that the account was submitted by mistake
to the Chairman of Streets for signature and to the Finance Committee
for passage of the same - which being put was lost
Yeas: Messrs Clements, JP Gildersleeve, Harty, Irving, Maloney,
McGuire, Pense 7
Nays: Messrs Allen, Anglin, Gaskin, Law, McCammon, McRossie,
Snook 7 and the original motion being
put was carried

Ald JP Gildersleeve here left

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets & Improvements
brought up two reports (Numbers 22 & 23 Book E) which were
read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property brought
up a Report (Number 24 Book E) which was received and adopted.

Several members having left the Council Chamber there being
no quorum, the meeting adjourned.

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day. Present:

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Clements, Dupuis, Gaskin, JP Gildersleeve,
Harty, Irving, Law, Maloney, McCammon, McGuire,
McMahon, McRossie, Pense, Snsook

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

A communication from James Agnew CIty Solicitor was
read stating that the By Law relating to the assessment of
Lawns &c should be passed immediately

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the Council go into Committee of the
whole to consider the Collectors By Law and By Law in
reference to Lawn assessment and that the rules of the
Council be suspended
