That the item of costs $17.21 in the Report of the
Finance Committee No 2 be referred back to said Committee
for further investigation which being put was carried and
the original resolution being put was carried as amended

On motion of Ald Harty amended by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That tenders be invited for the right to use
the watering cart for advertising purposes for the balance of
this year with power to act

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property brought
up a Report (Number 13 Book E) which was read

A report from Messrs Power & Son Architects was read
respecting repairs to Ontario Hall and other portions of the
City Buildings

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald Gildersleeve
Ordered, That the report of the Committee on City Property
be received and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets & Improvements
brought up Reports (Numbers 14 & 15 Book E) which were
read and adopted

A report (Number 16 Book E) from the Mayor and
City solicitor on refund of taxes to Messrs Burns & Kelly Post
Office officials for 1876 & 1877 was read and adopted

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Snook
Ordered, That the Mayor be authorized to proclaim
Wednesday August 18th next to be the annual Civic
Holiday

Ald Fee moves seconded by Ald Anglin
That the tenders for Markets Nos 1 & 2 be now
taken up - which being put was lost Yeas 9 Nays 9

The Council went into Committee of the whole
on the second reading of the By Law respecting the sale
of fresh fish

The Council resumed
The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to
sit again. The Report was received. Yeas 10 Nays 8

Tenders for Market Tolls for one year were
opened and read as follows:

A Lemmons - Two thousand, two hundred and fifty dollars
Robert Keyes - Two thousand, two hundred and eighty seven dollars
