On motion of Ald Dupuis seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the petition of Thomas Tobin be
referred to the Committee on Licenses to report

Ald Wilson and Snook brought up the petitions of
George Brand and Patrick J Jennings respectively on the
subject of taxation &c there was no action taken thereon

Ald Irving brought up the petition of the Kingston
Mechanics Institute praying for a remission of the rent
of the City Hall on the occasion of the Art Exhibition
held therein from 9th to 19th June

On motion of Ald Irving seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the petition of the Managers of the
Mechanics Institute be granted on their paying the cost
for Gas

Ald Allen brought up the petition of Thomas Mills
Secretary Midland Central Show asking for Grant towards
the show

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Anglin
Ordered, That $200 be granted to the Midland
Central Fair Association for the purpose of holding their
annual exhibition - it being a little amount to that granted
last year

Ald Pense brought up the petition of James Kirkpatrick
complaining of the state of Division street near his residence
and praying it may be remedied

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered, That the petition of James Kirkpatrick
be referred to the Committee on Streets to report

Ald CF Gildersleeve brought up the petition of James
Richardson and 185 others praying for the removal of Slaughter
Houses outside the limits of the City of Kingston

On motion of Ald CF Gildersleeve seconded by Ald Irving
Ordered, That the petition of James Richardson and
others be referred to a Special Committee consisting of Messrs
Dupuis, CF Gildersleeve, Irving, Clements and McCammon
with Ald Dupuis a Chairman to report

Ald Pense brought up the petition of John Taylor
praying payment for broken stone

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That John Taylors petition be referred
to the Committee on Streets to report

Ald Harty from the Committee on
Finance and Accounts brought up Reports (Numbers
10, 11 & 12 Book E) which were read

Ald Harty moves seconded by Ald Pense
That the reports numbers 1, 2 & 3 of the Committee
on Finance and Accounts be received and adopted
