Two Market be accepted if the sureties are acceptable

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present:

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, Clements, Dupuis, Fee, Irving,
Law, Maloney, McCammon, McIntyre, McMahon,
McRossie, Pense, Snook, Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting
The Mayor called the attention of the Council to certain
accounts passed in Re Grove street

Ald Gaskin here entered

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the verbal communication of His
Worship the Mayor as to some alleged irregularity in
rendering an account of William Hulton be referred to
the Committee on Finance and Accounts to investigate and
report

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the matter of expense of sending the
Chief Engineer to Toronto with a view of procuring the necessary
apparatus for the Fire Brigade be referred to the Committee on
Finance to act

A Communication from SS Phippen Secretary Board of
Public School Trustees was read enclosing the estimate for
expenses for the year

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the communication of Mr Phippen
Secretary of the School Board enclosing the estimates of
the said Board for the present year be referred to the Committee
on Finance to report

A communication from the Fisheries Department was
read acknowledging letter complaining of illegal fishing at
Horse shoe and Pigeon Island
